Tortoise, turtle or sea turtle – what is the difference?
Where they live is key: Tortoises spend their lives on land, turtles spend some time in the water, and sea turtles only come on land to lay eggs. But that’s just one of many differences! Who can’t tuck into its shell? Who eats mostly plants? Who has “elephant feet"? Visit the Science Mill blog for more fun facts from our staff biologist.

Meet the Mill’s African spurred tortoises at a weekend feeding (Saturdays and Sundays at 2:15pm; check with front desk or call 844-263-6405 to confirm). And watch their adorable hatchlings on the live Tortoise Cam!
In case you missed it

Fox Good Day Austin visited the Science Mill to try out SciDive, our new 4D virtual reality experience – it’s officially Tierra Neubaum approved!
